James Taylor at Tanglewood

4:00 - We arrived and so did the rain. We were prepared, even though our canopy structure was against the rules. This photo is half of our group. The other half waited for the rain to let up.
We were told several times by park employees to take down our canopy. It was pouring rain and three hours before show time. We stalled... along with other people who had the same type of canopy structures.
Where there's a will, and rain, there's a way... a loophole in the rules... umbrellas are allowed. We had one of those too! Up popped the beach umbrella with the canvas canopy draped over it.
Soggy die hards.6:30 - The rain stopped and the sun came out. A happy cheer erupted among the crowd. Down came the canopy and the umbrella. We all got cozy in our dry chairs with food and liquid refreshment.
The concert shed with giant show screen. James Taylor on the big screen. The concert was very enjoyable. JT sounds as great as always. He had a full band with horns. "Mexico" was especially fantastic and a version of "Knock On Wood". We sang along with "You've Got A Friend". The night ended with a colorful display of fireworks.

Chewy this sounds so delightful. Even the rain....well it stopped just in time. Is that the way concerts happen nowadays? You don't really see him, you see him projected on a screen????? Glad you got the pleasure of bieng with friends and listening to some mellow music. PS nice portrait of you.

Suki,
If I stood up from where I was sitting I could see JT on the stage inside the shed. We had a bunch of children with us and elected to take the "cheap seats" out on the lawn. The shed itself seats over 5,000 people.

We all had a fun time, even the kids who thought it would be boring to hear a old bald guy.

Well, Happy 4th and it looks like your concert was a great way to kick off the holiday! Lovely evening, nice concert and a GREAT pictures leading up to it! Ya know...that "pre-concert" fun is often just as great if not better than some of the actual events!

Oh, does this bring back memories! I saw James Taylor at Tanglewood in 1975! It's good to know he's still out there, making great memories for you and your friends. PS--Carly Simon made a surprise appearance, singing Mockingbird with him. Very cool!
