Sketches from the garden.
Studies for paintings. Colored Pencils. Size: 10 x 7 inches.
I have never filled a sketchbook. There are several blank books kicking around my house. Sketchbook Friday gives me a goal to aim for and a week to complete the task. I usually fill one page a week in a drawing session of not more than 1 hour.

Looking at the four sketches individually, they make great designs for bags.
Mrs YesBut would love to have one.
Hey, you have window boxes in full bloom too?? Good Lord woman, will you kindly stop showing the rest of us up, please?
I love your sketches, these are warm, simple and very inviting.
yesbuts,
You have more than one "but" now?
Sewn, like tapestry material would be cool for handbags.
shrinky,
ha-ha... only one window box, thanks to Dad, on the garage facing the pool. He does all the hanging baskets and pots of geraniums too!
A perfect garden journal! Now how much fun is that?
Thanks Chewy!
Lovely sketches with color and detail; love them!
Have a good weekend, Chewy!

Kim,
Oh... I never looked at my sketchbook as a journal... You are sooo RIGHT ON!
Jo-Jo,
You have a great weekend. Your present life is full of enjoyment. (smile)
Chewy, I love peeking in your sketchbook. I believe this is the most delightful set I've seen yet!
Wonderful sketches Chewy! Thank you for sharing them with us! :)

The flower box is very cool!
(thanks for the peek)
LOVE it! Gotta love a fellow gardening anyhow!
My mom always grew sweetpeas when I was a child, I have attempted only one year since I have lived in AZ. They smell so sweet, your sketches equally reflect that!
Oh this is lovely. You put my little sketchbook for shame! I've been trying to keep a regular art journal for a month now. Not doing too well!!! Sigh.....
Hi-Ho. I've added some text (in green) to the post.
a lovely page. Bright and cheerful, soft and evocative. Thanks for the info on the picture frames. We have a Michaels so I'll check them out though my pictures tend to be large.
Have you heard of the Big Draw? It takes place in October in England. Last year Elizabeth of Devonshire hosted an on-line big draw thing. Five or six of us participate in doing a drawing a day if possible. For the first time, I filled up a sketchbook. It was fun, sometimes hard. I'd like to do it again but not sure if Elizabeth will host it again and/or if it has to be someone English who does it. I do think it's cool that a whole country promotes drawing for a month from ages 6 month to 109.
I love these sketches Chewy, especially the window box. What a great way to organize your thoughts.
Nice to see your sketches Dar. I had a large sketchbook with my scribbles from the late 80's that sadly got lost when I moved years ago. : (
