Sketch for a Painting

Prismacolor Art Stix - 9 x 12 inches
Sketch for a painting in progress. - Since I was repeatedly changing the colors on my current canvas, I decided to set the painting aside and work out the palette and composition in a drawing. The Mark-A-Day drawings have really helped me to loosen up and draw more from intuition rather than from concentration.

So the mark-a-day is helping you to evolve in a new direction with your paintings? Cool! I like the movement and vibrancy in this sketch, it'll be great if you can get that transferred in paint.. good luck.

And they make nice shadows.

Babs,
Yes, the shadows! I just finished the painted version of this and I was able to maintain the same shadow effect.
