Hi Jo, It really has no hidden meaning. I was getting tired of painting cute animals and reflected back to the more edgier personalities of my earlier "critters".
I do admit I love Halloween with it's costumes and that may be influencing my subconscious.
Hi Suki, I could have named it "Devil Star", but I wanted a little more oblique title. Lucifer is a fallen angel. Meteors are falling stars. In the bible Lucifer is referred to as a fallen star. "The Fallen Star".
OMG, he is oily and rodent-like, oozing fake bon-hommie, isn't he? Do not trust that grin of his! I can see the maggots writhing beneath his skin. A fallen star, indeed.
Aaah, back to the critters,,and a big one this time. Sure glad I didn't see all that Shrinky did though! :-D Do you prefer painting these guys in the larger format, or the smaller,,or does it make any difference to you?
Babs, I liked painting the smaller art cards over the summer because I could do several at a time and work on them outside while sitting by the pool. (smile)
The 8x10s fit on my new scanner bed (which is awesome)... plus 8x10 size has more image area for background patterns and/or textures. I'm liking this size, suits me for now.

maybe it's the title that makes this seem to have hidden meaning/depths.

An excellent portrayal, Chewy.
Hi Novice Writer,
Thanks for stopping in.
Shrinky,
eeeeek! Such a morbid description. You certainly see more than I do. (tee-hee) Thanks for bringing out what's beneath the skin.

I see him as a demonic Rodney Dangerfield which is pretty scary when you think about it.
Smiles,
