OMG, you colourized this in photoshop? This is amazingly effective Chewy, who woulda' thunk? Makes me want to get off my lazy, good for nothing arse, and to hit those tutorials again (although I severly doubt I could ever achieve such a result as this, I haven't the "eye" as you obviously have for it).

I used Illustrator. It's this simple...
1. Scan
2. Live Trace
3. Live Paint
Of course, making minor adjustments to the settings during the process.

Of course being a neanderthal i had no idea what colorized meant till i read shrinky's comment. pretty neat.
